Many people have asked to come to work in my studio. I decided to open it up to the public. I hope that participates will leave this workshop with new skills and a intensive look into their creative image making process.

We will be working on a custom made Allen Greg press ( who has made presses for other print makers such as Sam Francis).

Studio provides soaking sinks spacious work tables I will supply all materials except paper which may be purchased from me. Bring any other tools you might want to use depending on your experience.

Bellow is a the view of the studio

The workshop is conveniently located in front of the main house on Highway 544 which is the main street of El Rito. This a view of the studio. We will be focusing on making monoprints/types. This workshop is open to beginners as well as practicing artists who would like to expand their range of expression and techniques. This weeklong retreat is an opportunity for you to become more comfortable with the medium and to explore your image making process as you extend your range of expression.I will demonstrate, some beginning techniques for using the press and mixing inks. I will also show how to do chine-colle and multiple “drops” on one piece of paper. We will have group discussions of our work and experiences in the studio. I will be available for one on one instruction as well as group instruction.

This is a view of my Sweet Old Adobe.

We will be staying in my sweet old adobe house behind the spacious artists studio in the small village of El Rito. The village was founded by the Spanish in the 17th century. On the first night we will walk to the small family owned local restaurant El Farolito to experience authentic New Mexican Cuisine.

El Rito is located 50 minutes from Santa Fe and from Taos, and 11 miles from Georgia O’keffe’s studio. It is also walking distance from the Kit Carson National Forest where there are miles of trails and waterfalls. A wonderful option at the end of a busy day in the workshop.

In my little kitchen we will prepare some wholesome meals together, discuss our work and other options for interesting half day activities in the area, such as visiting Taos or Santa Fe.
